3 - Who made it?

Transparency along the entire supply chain is essential to ensure respect for the rights of our workers.

We are committed to a constant monitoring program of the working conditions of everyone involved in making our sneakers.

WHY?

From poverty wages to unsafe factories to the complete absence of trade unions: in the fashion industry, hardly any rights are guaranteed and protected, despite the majority of fashion brands claiming otherwise. According to reports in global supply chains, 94% of the workforce is hidden, where the darkness of commercial contracts facilitates exploitation and oppression.

WE MUST NEVER STOP ASKING WHO MADE WHAT WE WEAR. KNOWING WHERE OUR CLOTHES ARE MADE AND WHO MADE THEM IS A FUNDAMENTAL STEP TOWARDS A VALUE CHAIN FREE FROM HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS.

At Womsh, environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and transparency are the criteria that guide every entrepreneurial, design, and production choice we make.
Over these ten years, we have developed a social responsibility program that allows us to monitor our impact across the entire supply chain, through audits that we conduct personally and that directly involve the workers in our partner factories. Our goal is not only to observe the highest social and environmental standards in the industry but also to improve the lives of all people involved in our activities.

OUR TRANSPARENT SUPPLY CHAIN IS A STARTING POINT,

NOT AN ENDPOINT.

Labels often tell us little about the clothes and shoes we wear, and we rarely have meaningful information about where they were made and who made them. A T-shirt may have "Made in ..." written on it, but which of the thousands of factories in the country was it produced in? What were the working conditions of the workers - especially women - in these factories?

Publicly disclosing information about the factories of our suppliers allows trade unions and human rights defenders to identify, report, and remedy suspected abuses, as well as allowing anyone to closely examine a brands policies to support positive change. It is a starting point: it does not mean that brands that make their factory data public are better, but it makes it easier to identify responsibilities for violations of workers rights. Without transparency, it will be impossible to change the current fashion industry system and make it more sustainable, responsible, and fair.

We have decided to produce exclusively in Italy and Portugal because it allows us to closely monitor the working conditions of those who collaborate with us. Our specific knowledge of the entire supply chain makes it traceable at every stage: from the sourcing of raw materials to production locations to the individual people who contributed to making our sneakers.

"TRANSPARENCY FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN US."

A QR CODE will be applied to each Womsh sneaker, allowing access to the Blockchain system that tells the entire life cycle of our sneakers and certifies every responsible choice and initiative, the materials used, and the suppliers we work with in full compliance with environmental and social regulations.

All Womsh partners must adhere to our same code of conduct and are required to respect and apply our Code of Ethics.

Our Code of Ethics is much more than just a collection of rules to be followed: it is a set of guidelines that clarify the mission, values, and principles we believe in. It communicates how we should behave and how we expect our suppliers and collaborators to behave, while promoting equity, sustainability, and transparency throughout the value chain. Inspired by the highest international standards, it not only determines guiding principles in terms of health, safety, and the environment, but also the methods of implementation, monitoring, reporting, and sanctioning of any violations, making it a concrete tool in every respect

WHAT DO WE ASK OF OUR SUPPLIERS?

We rely only on suppliers who value diversity and promote greater equity and inclusion. Womsh carries out a series of due diligence activities to promote fair labor practices and ensure good working conditions in all our factories.

Conducting on-site audits at the facilities of our direct and indirect suppliers allows us to assess their social and environmental compliance, identify critical situations, and support them in the corrective measures that are necessary to continue working with us and to improve the entire supply chain.

Audits can be planned or unplanned and follow a detailed checklist to verify:

• Respect for fundamental human and labor rights:especially in terms of forced labor, child exploitation, working hours, guaranteed minimum wage, health, and safety.

• Respect for gender equality and total absence of discrimination.According to data, 80% of the 75 million workers in the fashion industry are women. Thats why we ensure that women are not the weakest link in the chain and that their rights are respected.

• Presence of union representation:we want all people involved in our supply chain to have a voice, which is why freedom of association of workers is a fundamental requirement in the selection phase.

• Transparency of information:we ask that the data and information from our partner factories be as transparent as possible and accessible to all those who want to know more about how Womsh products are made.

  • 1 - What is the product made from?

  • 2 - Where was it made?

  • 3 - Who made it?

  • 4 - What are the working conditions of the workers?

  • 5 - Was the worker paid fairly?

  • 6 - What we do to give back part of the profits to improve the society?
